Our last release, Cull Shorts, is now available via mail order from Cake Time Records. This CD collects most of what we released over the past couple years on cassette, vinyl 7”, and in digital single form, with a previously unreleased version of “Slugger” added.
How to get all our recordings real cheap:
1. Buy Cull Shorts for $5 through our Bandcamp page. You get the CD in the mail, plus an immediate digital download in your choice of format.
2. Download the cassette version of “Slugger” and “Good To Be True” for free (they’re the only two not on Cull Shorts).
If you want, you can also still find some mp3s on blogs for free, or you can download just the songs you want for $1 apiece from the Bandcamp page repping each individual EP or single.
Final reminder! We added a second guitarist and became Bent Shapes. Head over to the new website to check out some songs and see the same pictures I am about to post of our new 7” flexi demo on Cake Time Records (available at our first show as Bent Shapes, with Shepherdess and Grass Widow next Wednesday at Great Scott). Limited edition, bright blue on translucent red, in polybags, and very hard to photograph.
It’s TRUE. Bent Shapes will play its first show on May 30th with Shepherdess and Grass Widow at Great Scott. Girlfriends will be playing all the classics at its last show; next Saturday, May 12th, with The BFs, New Highway Hymnal, Banditas, and Mark Sultan at PA’s Lounge.
Shows where you’re standing outside a nearby drugstore watching multiple fire trucks speeding towards the space going “Please don’t turn right.” don’t usually end up this fun.
BIG_UPS to: Bible Thumper for loaning nearly every band their gear on the 30th day of their 30-day tour, Sean for lending people gear even though he didn’t get to play, Furnace for sacrificing their set due to time constraints, Joe, and WWTA/everyone who set up the show and then had to re-set up the show, Box Fort for hosting Round II last minute, everyone who made the trek over from Round I, and anyone else who played, hung out, or offered refreshments!
We’ve got some pretty wiiiiild shows coming up:
April 28th (that’s this Saturday) @ What We Talk About in Allston we’ll be playing in a 30-something-person, no-holds-barred, over-the-top battle royale featuring:

LOLITA BLACK (metal/punk)
BIBLE THUMPER (punk/hardcore)
MANNEQUIN PUSSY (garage/punk)
IF you make it out alive, you can come see us the following weekend on Cinco de Mayo at the Cameo in Brooklyn with:

We found out yesterday that our band has been nominated for Best Act in the Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll, and that Ben was nominated for Best Male Vocalist. If you feel like voting, click the links in the preceding sentence and you can do so as often and as regularly as you’d like.
A lot of our friends are nominated as well: Quilt, Creaturos, Earthquake Party, Cuffs, Reports, The Needy Visions, Now Denial, Mean Creek, Get Laid, Amanda Dellevigne, and more—click around, go nuts!
We are re-entering the nascent digital age later this month with CULL SHORTS, a COMPACT DISC collecting all our cassette/7” releases since 2009, plus a couple unreleased songs. It’ll be available at our upcoming shows for $5, or you can download it for free off LimeWire drinking a Surge.
Speaking of upcoming shows, you can find us at What We Talk About in Allston with Mannequin Pussy (NYC), Lolita Black (RI), and Dream Warrior on April 28th, and at the Cameo Gallery in Brooklyn with Wild Yaks, Raccoon Fighter, and The Toothaches on Cinco de Mayo.

FREE T-SHIRTS. Our friend Brian screenprinted a bunch of thrifted shirts for us awhile ago, and we’re clearing out what’s left of them to make room in the space. If you want one for free (+ shipping, if you don’t mind), e-mail us. You can also pick one up at a show. Just a few sizes/colors/styles left.
