Cull Shorts now available by mail order!

Our last release, Cull Shorts, is now available via mail order from Cake Time Records. This CD collects most of what we released over the past couple years on cassette, vinyl 7”, and in digital single form, with a previously unreleased version of “Slugger” added.

How to get all our recordings real cheap:
1. Buy Cull Shorts for $5 through our Bandcamp page. You get the CD in the mail, plus an immediate digital download in your choice of format.
2. Download the cassette version of “Slugger” and “Good To Be True” for free (they’re the only two not on Cull Shorts).

If you want, you can also still find some mp3s on blogs for free, or you can download just the songs you want for $1 apiece from the Bandcamp page repping each individual EP or single.

Thanks!

Post-show THANKS are in order:

Shows where you’re standing outside a nearby drugstore watching multiple fire trucks speeding towards the space going “Please don’t turn right.” don’t usually end up this fun.

BIG_UPS to: Bible Thumper for loaning nearly every band their gear on the 30th day of their 30-day tour, Sean for lending people gear even though he didn’t get to play, Furnace for sacrificing their set due to time constraints, Joe, and WWTA/everyone who set up the show and then had to re-set up the show, Box Fort for hosting Round II last minute, everyone who made the trek over from Round I, and anyone else who played, hung out, or offered refreshments!

RIP Anthony

Earlier today, we learned that Anthony Poynter passed away after an arduous battle with cancer.

I didn’t know Anthony as well as many in his wide circle of friends and loved ones, but what I do know is that Anthony was a champion of independent music and a total sweetheart. He literally booked every show I’ve ever played in his home state of Kentucky, always ready lend a hand with a hall, community-run space, house, cafe etc. If he couldn’t put you up for the night, he knew someone that could. If you were hungry, he’d find you something to eat. Each summer, it seemed like he was simultaneously strengthening his community and acting as a one-man scene, and it didn’t surprise me to learn that he was still attending shows and releasing records after his diagnosis. We didn’t get to see each other as often as I might have liked, but regardless of how well he knew you, Anthony gave out hugs like highfives. I wish I had the chance to give him one more, and watching the outpouring of support from all over the globe today and in the past year, I know there’s a lot of people that feel the same way. Rest in peace, man.

FREE T-SHIRTS. Our friend Brian screenprinted a bunch of thrifted shirts for us awhile ago, and we’re clearing out what’s left of them to make room in the space. If you want one for free (+ shipping, if you don’t mind), e-mail us. You can also pick one up at a show. Just a few sizes/colors/styles left.
