We found out yesterday that our band has been nominated for Best Act in the Boston Phoenix Best Music Poll, and that Ben was nominated for Best Male Vocalist. If you feel like voting, click the links in the preceding sentence and you can do so as often and as regularly as you’d like.

Girlfriends has been nominated for Best Pop Rock Artist of the Year in the Boston Music Awards. To, visit www.bostonmusicawards2011.com
Also, Andy + Ben will join Zoe + Amer of Whir and their friend Laura for a Flatmates cover band at the Ladyfest Boston Riot Grrrl Halloween show. It’s happening Halloween night, Oct 31, at Charlie’s Kitchen and it’s only $5 (all proceeds go to Ladyfest). Also appearing: Bratmobile, Slant6, Huggy Bear, The Runaways, Crass, and Kate Bush!
ALSO! Andy will be playing drums w/ Mikey, Chris, and Erik from Mean Creek for a Ramones cover set at Starlab on Thursday October 27
as well as with members of Spirit Kid and Oranjuly for a Beatles cover set at The Pill @ Great Scott on Friday October 28!
